Parent Code of Ethics
I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in youth sports by following this Parents Code of Ethics.
I (and my guests) will be positive role models for my child, and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy and not using offensive behavior or language – and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every game, practice, or other sporting event.
I will teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning and I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard.
I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
I will teach my child to treat other players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or ability.
I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices unless I am an official coach.
I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child and remember that the game is for children – not adults.
I have read and understand the above Code of Ethics and agree to its guidelines. I understand that if I do not follow this Code of Ethics I may be asked by whomever the Board of Directors appoints to enforce these ethics to leave the activity (such as a game or practice).
